One year of the war in Ukraine, as seen by press cartoonists.Launched on 24 February 2022, Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine was supposed to take only a fortnight. So far, it has lasted a whole year. A year of fierce Ukrainian resistance and poorly coordinated Russian assaults, as well as tens of thousands of deaths on both sides, catastrophic environmental damage and the disgrace of an entire country - this is the dire landscape produced by Russian aggression in Ukraine. While the involvement of the United States and Europe (especially the supply of resources and heavy weapons) and the growing vulnerability of Vladimir Putin suggest a Ukrainian victory, there are still many unknown factors, and the war is (very) far from over.
Here is our selection of the best press cartoons on the topic.
